Peetz Returning to Roots at SCC this Weekend

Candidate Peetz will be attending the Candidate Forum being hosted by the Spokane Coalition of Color.  This group includes the:  Asian and Pacific Islander Coalition (APIC) of Spokane, the Hispanic Business/Professional Association (HBPA) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

Spokane Community College is sponsoring this event so it is being held in the SCC Lair Saturday, October 7th from 10:00AM to 1:00PM.

This event is another great opportunity to hear from several of the candidates running for the Spokane Valley City Council.

SCC is familiar territory for her since she graduated with an Associates Degree from there before she went on to Graduate from Gonzaga University.  She talks very highly of her leadership experiences there and how much they inspired her to run for this position.  She was voted as the Vice President of the Associated Student Government (ASB) for the SCC campus in 2013 and also earned honors with Phi Beta Kappa.  Her education there added to her continuously growing civic responsibility.  Feel free to stop by this event and talk to her in person.  One of her main focuses is to find out how to get more people involved in our local governmental processes and get more feedback from the community.  Our marginalized and minority voices do not appear to be engaging in council meetings and events.  What are your ideas to improve this and make all feel welcome?  See you on Saturday!
